With warmer weather right around the corner, many women are thinking about how to dress, and prepare for the warmer weather.  I wanted to bring your attention to a great fashion designer and blogger on the scene in the Raleigh area, who can talk fashion, accessories, and how to dress best for your body.  Zankhna Parekh has been designing and making her own clothes since she was fourteen years old, and just recently launched her debut collection to much success and praise.

Zankhna has a diverse background; she was born in India, grew up in Kenya, and then moved to America for college. After more than ten successful years working in healthcare, Zankhna returned to her first love, fashion.  Her designs have international appeal and stay true to her culture by using pure and raw fabrics with eye-appealing designs and embroidery.

Zankhna specializes in clothing for on-the-go stylish moms. She works to style for all types of curves and hides any problem areas. Zankhna also prides herself in her socially conscious clothes as she never uses products tested on animals and ensures all employees receive fair wages.

Recently, Zankhna has appeared on The Wendy Sloane Show, WNCN Raleigh, and Celebrity Corner on the Dorothy on TV Show. She also serves as an on-camera talent for the website eHow.com, which has more than 100 million visitors every month.  She served from 2008 to 2010 as a Glambassador and Style Council member for Glamour magazine, which provided her the opportunity to attend fashion shows around the country and the world.

You can learn more about Zankhna, and see her most recent collection on her website, Zankhna.com

BROADWAY ARTISTS ALLIANCE ANNOUNCES ITS SUMMER INTENSIVE PROGRAM

New York City – Broadway Artists Alliance (BAA) is pleased to announce its upcoming Summer Intensive Programs. Students will identify a major emphasis in dance, acting, or voice and can choose from over thirty different classes, such as The 16 Bar Audition, Improvisation, Voice, and Choreography.  Past guest instructors have included Sutton Foster (Reno Sweeny in Anything Goes), Lea Michele (Rachel Berry in Glee and Wendla in Spring Awakening), Andrea McArdle (the original Annie in 1977), and Stephen Schwartz (composer, lyricist, and director of shows such as PippinGodspell, and Wicked).

The professionals teaching the classes have been impressed and thoroughly enjoyed their time working with BAA.  Justin Greer, who performed as Leo Bloom in The Producers, said, “The BAA summer theater intensive was a marvelous experience for me as an educator… The students were incredibly focused and attentive and ready to do the work.. they had me and my fellow colleagues talking for weeks.”

Likewise, students who have had the opportunity to participate in the BAA Summer Intensive program have felt they have gotten valuable advice and experience they wouldn’t have been able to obtain anywhere else.  Malinda Reese, a participant of the Summer Intensive program in 2009 said, “The ability to work with Broadway professionals and learn their wisdom is invaluable to anyone who wants to go into the profession… The coaches and professionals you work with really change you view on what you aspire to do with you life.  They are honest, encouraging, and inspiring.  That’s what young performers need to begin the road to self awareness and self confidence, and that is a crucial part of what we do.”

There are two summer sessions available for students.  Summer Session 1 runs from July 30, 2012 to August 3, 2012 and summer session 2 runs from August 6, 2012 to August 12, 2012.  Additionally, students may participate in combined sessions from July 30, 2012 to August 12, 2012.  All students wishing to participate must have an audition.  Auditions will be held across the United States.  Potential students, who are unable to attend an audition, may alternatively submit DVD auditions.BAA strives to provide young musical theater artists, ages 10 to 21, the great opportunity to receive professional level training from top industry performers and professionals.  In addition to summer intensive classes, BAA also offers summer and winter workshops, one-day master classes and college audition workshops.  For more information on any of these programs and for contact information, please visit http://www.broadwayartistsalliance.org.
